This was the first time Zac had braved a massage before a marathon. Having had calf cramp during the night 72 hours before the race, he thought it might be a good idea - may be it helped him get his PB..!
Mental preparation!
Having collected the race number and goodie bag from St Malo, we followed the race route back to the Mont St Michel. It is the only marathon where you can see the finish from the start (Cancale). Can be a good and bad thing! Was great seeing where Zac ran from the air a few weeks later when we flew back over the Normandy coast from the UK.

Despite rainy conditions, the day itself turned out to be quite sunny. Here's Zac at 9km going strong and smiling!

38km and still smiling! The last 4 km is superb as you approach the Mont.

People line the road all the way down to the finish - a real buzz.
Really happy to have achieved his target, with a new PB of 3hrs 14 minutes! (500th out of 5000) Bravo!
A blessing to be able to celebrate the occasion with family!
A well-earned beer! And it remained to visit the Mont in the afternoon. Another special weekend and a top marathon...
